Why We Love Product Photography

One of our absolute favourite types of photography is product photography. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a product and finding creative ways to showcase it in its best light. Whether we’re working with unique textures, unusual props, or custom lighting, product photography gives us the freedom to be super creative and deliver images that make products truly stand out.

Getting Creative with Props

Using A bow, box and tissue paper as props.

What makes product photography exciting is the chance to experiment with different props and setups. We love using unique props to enhance the look and feel of the product while maintaining focus on its key features. Some of the most unexpected items have ended up working perfectly in our shoots:

  • Wood chippings to create a rustic, natural feel

  • Clear perspex for a sleek, modern aesthetic

  • Gravel, adding texture and contrast

In each shoot, our goal is to find a way to show the product in a way that captures its essence, reflects the brand, and, most importantly, grabs attention.

Why Product Photography Matters for Businesses

When it comes to businesses that sell physical products, high-quality product photography is essential. It’s not just about taking a nice picture; it’s about communicating value, building trust, and helping potential customers understand why your product is worth buying. The right product photography can:

  • Highlight the details that set your product apart

  • Reinforce your brand identity through consistent, well-styled visuals

  • Increase sales conversions by making your product more appealing

If your images fall short, customers may not even give your product a second glance. That’s why we take such care to make sure every shot speaks for itself.

A Few Case Studies

We've worked on some fantastic product photography projects over the years, but two recent ones really stand out:

  • Abigail’s Lifestyle Christmas Shoot: For this project, we used simple yet effective setups to photograph their holiday collection of candles and diffusers. The clean, minimalist backdrop allowed the products to shine while maintaining a festive feel with small, branded Christmas props. This shoot helped create visuals that not only looked great on their website but were also perfect for social media marketing.

  • Kendon Packaging Photoshoot: One of our more creative shoots was for Kendon Packaging’s upcoming event. We were tasked with photographing their greaseproof paper in action, but with a twist. Instead of the usual fish and chips, we experimented with using baked goods and sandwiches to wrap in the branded paper, creating eye-catching images that stood out from the ordinary.

Product photography is an art, and at Forever Callie Media, we’re passionate about helping businesses present their products in a way that connects with their audience. Whether it’s through creative prop use, carefully controlled lighting, or high-end detail shots, our goal is always to deliver images that elevate your brand and drive results.
